It is the age of the dinosaur and herds of giant reptiles roam the landscape searching for food and water. It is a dino-eat-dino world out there and it takes a special kind of gamer to endure the rigours of prehistoric life. Are you ready to see if you have what it takes to survive extinction?
Choose your prehistoric reptile from three starter dinosaurs – T. Rex, Triceratops and Ornithomimus. As you play and survive, you earn DNA points that allow you to play as other dinosaurs.
Enter the prehistoric landscape as a baby dinosaur. You must find food and water to stay alive, which will raise your growth meter as you survive. Soon, you will evolve into an adult, increasing your attributes along the way.
You can form herds with other players, which is key to survival. As your pack roams the varied prehistoric landscape, world events like droughts will occur, creating a new challenge for your herd’s survival.
Quick Tips
Omnivore
Pick your dinosaur carefully. Food can be hard to find, especially if you are carnivorous but not big enough to take down your own prey. However, if you are fast enough, you can scavenge the leftovers from other dinos.
Evolution
You earn DNA points while you play the game and grow into an adult. You can spend your DNA from the main menu to unlock new dinosaur models to play with, including flying creatures and marine reptiles like the Liopleurodon.
Dino Nap
Having a rest is a good way to gain some percentage points, which you need in order to grow, without using too much energy. Make sure you don’t neglect your food and drink meters whilst you are fast asleep though.
Family Stone-Age
When you finally reach dinosaur adulthood, you will gain the ability to lay eggs that hatch into AI-controlled baby dinosaurs. Your babies will grow into adults and stick around for up to half an hour before despawning.
Dinosaur Simulator is a unique mash-up of simulation and survival, but it seems to have a huge fan base. It is much easier to play as herbivore and omnivore dinosaurs as most of the time they are faster than the carnivores, so it is much easier to find food around the map to help you to survive longer.
